In statement, APMG announced that “ITIL v3” is no longer to be used. All references to ITIL, whether in training course names, on certificates, in marketing collateral, etc. now simply is to refer to as “ITIL”. Also what was originally referred to as ITIL Edition 2011 is now to be called ITIL. Just like the old days prior to the release of ITIL v3 in 2007.

On August 18, InterProm USA educated many ITSM enthusiasts on how the new ISO/IEC 20000 version relates to the new ITIL Edition 2011 during an itSMF USA ISO/IEC 20000 Special Interest Group (SIG) webinar. Mart Rovers, President of InterProm USA and co-presenter of the webinar, shared with the audience the differences and commonalities of the new edition of the global IT Service Management standard and the new version of the world’s most popular IT Service Management framework. This was the third event in a series of four in which the new ISO/IEC 20000 version was introduced.

Today, the OGC released the new edition of ITIL, ITIL Edition 2011. The new version includes some major changes in the Service Strategy book and many enhancements. In a white paper the details of the differences between the 2007 and the 2011 release are explained. Course providers have until the end of the year to upgrade their accredited courseware. Certification exams will take this timeframe of making the necessary changes into account. The new books are for sale on our website.

On July 21, InterProm USA educated many ITSM enthusiasts on how the new ISO/IEC 20000 version aligns with the ISO 9001 standard during an itSMF USA ISO/IEC 20000 Special Interest Group (SIG) webinar. Mart Rovers, President of InterProm USA and co-presenter of the webinar, shared with the audience how both standards relate to each other and how ISO 9001 certified organizations can expedite their efforts of becoming ISO/IEC 20000 certified. The webinar was the second in a series of four during which the new edition of the global IT Service Management standard was introduced.

On May 16, just one months after the its release, InterProm USA introduced the new ISO/IEC 20000 version during an itSMF USA ISO/IEC 20000 Special Interest Group (SIG) webinar. Mart Rovers, President of InterProm USA, shared with the audience the major differences between the 2005 and the 2011 version of the global IT Service Management standard. The webinar was the first in a series of four during which the new edition will be introduced. Webinars scheduled for the upcoming months will focus on how the new version integrates with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001, as well as the level of (non-)alignment with ITIL.
